Holiday Party

These are some pics of a holiday party me and the Maxine had a couple weeks ago. We kept it pretty simple and laid back since it was the weekend before finals and we knew everyone would probably be studying their butts off the next day. Enjoy the pics!our yummy food spread. haha yes those are tostinos pizza pockets..idunno this is stuff we randomly found in our fridge (it was finals week okay! :P). and that white dip next to the strawberries was probably our friend's fave thing (1/2 a jar of marshmallow whip and a package of cream cheese) SOO amazing with strawberries.. or even a frosting. YUM!

no it does not say make UR an ornament. it says make US an ornament haha. we had all our friends make us a cute little ornament for our small tree because we're too cheap to buy real ones..plus it made for a really cute favor for everyone to take home.

the love of my life. hehe Dree. i made her pose like a reindeer in front of our xmas wall.

it took us around....30 minutes? to figure out how to turn on the fireplace. and when we finally figured it out we turned it off because the room was soo hot.
maxo and i making ornaments!
bestie
kristine and i. her hands are awk here but she still looks cute.
all my friends think this pic is so awk. one of my friends said it reminds him of American Gothic by Grant Wood...=/ but i still think it's cute =).
some boys showing of their ornaments
some of my fave girls <3

maxo and i set up a poker table in our study room for the boys. they seemed to appreciate it =)
we played about 1038430 board games that night. cranium, pictionary, catchphrase, taboo, poker....yeah it was probably the best night ever :)

Dear Santa,

*ssigghh* I love the winterbreak and the holiday season. I've missed Irvine terribly and it's so great to be home and see my family. It's even better when I don't have midterms/homework/finals to study for :). I made a small list accompanied by my crappy collage of some of my xmas wishlist :) (Emphasis on the WISH):

1. Rainboots (Target): If any of you guys live in socal you know how incredibly rainy and freezing it's been this past week! I have this weird habit of wearing flip-flops in the rain (I know I'm asking for pneumonia) because I hate it when I wear shoes and they get soggy and wet--it's seriously the grossest feeling in the world to me I can't explain why. I don't know why I haven't figured out that I need a cute pair of rainboots to solve my soggy-shoe dilema. Waterproof and warm! How perfect =)
2. Mama Mia! Dvd: I just might be the biggest ABBA fan out there. no joke i've been singing "thank you for the music" since I was in diapers. haha anyways this movie is so cute and fun I've seen it a bunch of times already so it seems pretty fitting for this movie to be in my dvd collection.
3. Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI: hehe..yeah I'm wishing REAL HARD on this one. I've been looking for a nice camera for a very long time now. I mean, my little digital canon powershot has been very good to me over the past two years..but, it's always nice for a little change ;).
4. Influence by Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen: I've been fawning over this book for a while now at Barnes and Nobles that I've already read most of it. But it would be a really great coffee table book at my house for all my friends to look at.
5. Elizabeth and James Snake Ring: I just love this ring. I'm trying to build up my jewelry collection and I think this pretty little darling will make a very nice addition.
6. Red Monkey Studded Leather Watch (Ronherman.com): Wow. I can't explain to you guys how badly I need this watch. It's just perfect.
7. Fixed Gear Track Bike: I've been wanting a cute little track bike for a little while now. One reason is because I'm probably the least fit person in the world and can barely walk from one side of my school's campus to the other without practically passing out from exhaustion. A bike would be a cute way to get to where I need to be fast (and also save money on gas which is always good).
8. Lace Tights (Topshop.com): I'm in love with tights and leggings, especially in the wintertime. Lace tights are so feminine and interesting and can make a really basic outfit into something oh-so-chic. I need.
9. GHD IV hair straightener (Sephora.com): My hair is strange. It has strange cricks and indents that make my hair frizzy and uggggly. My friend has this hair straightener and she loves it so I would really like to give it a try.
10. Dolce Vita Birdcage Heel (Urbanoutfitters.com): I'm usually too chicken to buy shoes in a non-neutral color. But I have to say these beautiful shoes look like they could match with a lot of things, and not to mention they are AMAZING.

Post Food Baby

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great thanksgiving! My Thanksgiving was spent with my wonderful family at my sister's new house. Probably within fifteen minutes of arriving into my sis' home I fell into a deep food coma from all the turkey, yams and stuffed mushrooms I crammed into my mouth. Still, it was a fantastic time and made me sooo excited for christmas :D.
Today when my cousins and i walked downstairs to play with my puppy Toto we were surprised to see a brand new 40 inch plasma tv waiting to be opened and adored. My parents got a head start on Black Friday shopping around 4 am and bought me the tv as an early christmas gift. Gossip Girl will never look the same again (in a good way of course ;D).
Anyways, I found this cute beige dress in my mom's closet a couple monthes ago. Oh how I love my mom's hand me downs.

sweater weather

i

I'm BACK! Sorry about being mia it's just that I've been really busy moving into my new house which until today, had no internet. But, in all honesty there was nothing even remotely inspiring in any of my outfits that I wore this week anyways...my attire mostly consisted of sweatpants, old hoodies and flip flops...yes I can tell your yawning with boredom.

Anyways socal has FINALLYY provided us with some rain and I'm lovin every minute of it. I went to campus today for my only class of the day and was surprised to see my whole campus deserted-- I guess people were more excited to chow down on turkey legs and cornbread stuffing then be lectured about the hermeneutics of religious mythical paradoxes, hm? After class I came home to find my house taken over by house painters who have turned my stark white walls into that warm beige color you see in the pictures. Now it is finally time for me to decorate my room....hmm note to self: google cheap room decor ideas.

This sweater is absolutely the comfiest thing I own. It used to go down to my knees but then I shrunk it in the wash and now, well, it's practically tshirt length. All well. And these boots have got to be my favorite thing in the world right now. The platform makes these 5" heels feel like comfy slippers.

If I don't get around to posting tommorrow, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Veterans and Dinosaurs

Happy Veteran's Day everyone! I woke up bright and early today to help setup for a good friend's surprise breakfast at a local cafe. The rest of my day was spent browsing the dinosaur museum with my boyfriend and then stopping by a little bakery for some macaroons and orange zest cookies. All-in-all it was quite a wonderful day =)

Lazy Sunday

Ah, the end of a relaxing weekend, and the start of a hectic week! My Saturday and Sunday comprised of: shopping for random misc. things for the house (toilet paper, chips and dip, shampoo...), picking out new furniture for my sister's new house--then scoring a cute leather-seated dining table for my new house, and finishing up an assignment for my religious studies class. Sometimes the most uneventful weekends end of being the most fulfilling, don't you think?

It's All A Blur..

I wore this outfit a couple weekends ago while running a few errands and doing a little shopping. This black shirt is probably one of my faavorite pieces of clothing. of all time. I bought it at urban outfitters on sale for about $10 and have definitely gotten my money's worth. The picture does not do my sequiney piece of cloth justice. The detailing is silvery flower sequins and beads and bordering around the collar. Sigh. The perfect amount of sequin to pull of wearing it in the daytime. I couldn't find my small silver bangles so I borrowed my favie bestie/roomie's silver hoop earings and used them as bangles instead and it worked out perfectly!

It's Raining, It's Pouring, the Old Man is Snoring

Finally the rain has shared it's watery goodness with my dry little town! The only problem was that I had not prepared myself for the appropriate rain attire, but my trusty old windbreaker worked just fine--and only $5 from Old Navy! I also haven't gotten the chance to wear these knee-highs yet so I was pretty excited to whip these cozy little puppies out. Perfect Sunday afternoon: lunch and a movie (Zach and Miri was very funny) with my boyfriend. Oh, and of course the extra hour of sleep thanks to daylight savings wasn't too bad either ;)

All Hallows' Even

I know, my costume is so off from the Susie Q, 50s soda pop girl idea I was going for..but the skirt is kind of cute, no?

I wish I had a full body shot of Areli's costume. It was a black jumpsuit with gold sequins from top to bottom. Priceless.

My boyfriend is not really as into the whole costume thing as I am. He never had a costume growing up, can you believe that?! Haha I felt so lucky he put SOME effort into his Greaser costume that night.

Pre-partying. Haha some of us already are starting to get that cherry glow..

My sister spent her Halloween in Vegas at the Palazzo (lucky!), so I get to puppysit cute little Ripley for the weekend.

What a fabulous night of mischief! After too much deliberation and not enough sewing skills I ended up having to scramble for an easy costume I could make last minute. Luckily I was able to create some kind of mini-poodle skirt out of pink felt, velcro, and safety pins. It was way too hot for me to wear the cropped cardigan and pink felt scarf I had planned on wearing so I just stuck with a white ribbed tank instead and some silver and pearl beads I had found in my friend's car. The white keds also belonged to a friend of mine and were about a size too small for my monstrous feet--unfortunately my feet are punishing me today for my cruel uncomfort I put them through last night. I'm so glad I ended up finding the white laced socks for $1 at RiteAid; I'll defnitely be wearing them with other outfits outside of the 50s themed ensembles. Tonight, I believe I must scramble again for a costume..hm time to start googling for more simple costume ideas...

If The Shoe Fits...

30101-BLKBLK

After two weeks of grueling midterms I decided to reward myself with some self-purchased presents. And I cannot tell you how excited I am for my new shoe purchases to come in the mail. The patent ankle boots are perfectly casual and the chunky heel is perfect for making certain that I don't trip over my own two feet. I bought the buckle bootie in black and I think it will become a staple item in my wardrobe. I'm so excited to experiment with all the different things I can wear these with. And lastly, these oxford peep toed platforms are pretty fun and ineresting--especially with the diamond-cut pattern on the heel and platform. Watch out for later posts featuring these shoes! And look out for my next post in which I will be showcasing my some of my silly halloween costumes.
