Finally the rain has shared it's watery goodness with my dry little town! The only problem was that I had not prepared myself for the appropriate rain attire, but my trusty old windbreaker worked just fine--and only $5 from Old Navy! I also haven't gotten the chance to wear these knee-highs yet so I was pretty excited to whip these cozy little puppies out. Perfect Sunday afternoon: lunch and a movie (Zach and Miri was very funny) with my boyfriend. Oh, and of course the extra hour of sleep thanks to daylight savings wasn't too bad either ;)

I wish I had a full body shot of Areli's costume. It was a black jumpsuit with gold sequins from top to bottom. Priceless.
My boyfriend is not really as into the whole costume thing as I am. He never had a costume growing up, can you believe that?! Haha I felt so lucky he put SOME effort into his Greaser costume that night.
Pre-partying. Haha some of us already are starting to get that cherry glow..
My sister spent her Halloween in Vegas at the Palazzo (lucky!), so I get to puppysit cute little Ripley for the weekend.
What a fabulous night of mischief! After too much deliberation and not enough sewing skills I ended up having to scramble for an easy costume I could make last minute. Luckily I was able to create some kind of mini-poodle skirt out of pink felt, velcro, and safety pins. It was way too hot for me to wear the cropped cardigan and pink felt scarf I had planned on wearing so I just stuck with a white ribbed tank instead and some silver and pearl beads I had found in my friend's car. The white keds also belonged to a friend of mine and were about a size too small for my monstrous feet--unfortunately my feet are punishing me today for my cruel uncomfort I put them through last night. I'm so glad I ended up finding the white laced socks for $1 at RiteAid; I'll defnitely be wearing them with other outfits outside of the 50s themed ensembles. Tonight, I believe I must scramble again for a costume..hm time to start googling for more simple costume ideas...
After two weeks of grueling midterms I decided to reward myself with some self-purchased presents. And I cannot tell you how excited I am for my new shoe purchases to come in the mail. The patent ankle boots are perfectly casual and the chunky heel is perfect for making certain that I don't trip over my own two feet. I bought the buckle bootie in black and I think it will become a staple item in my wardrobe. I'm so excited to experiment with all the different things I can wear these with. And lastly, these oxford peep toed platforms are pretty fun and ineresting--especially with the diamond-cut pattern on the heel and platform. Watch out for later posts featuring these shoes! And look out for my next post in which I will be showcasing my some of my silly halloween costumes.

Hello my fellow blogging honeys! I am currently writing to you in the comfort of my college-chic apartment, watching the hills, and fantasizing of the root beer float I will make after I am finished writing this. This is an outfit I wore today to school--thank you fab roomie for lending me the green top, it is perfectly casual chic. I cannot wait for this sweltering heat to go down so I can pull out those dusty scarves and coats that I've missed so much over the summer
